Day 1

Fez – Middle Atlas – Merzouga Sahara Desert – Camel trek and overnight in a Berber Camp

We’ll start our adventure by picking you up from your hotel/riad in Fes and embarking on a journey towards the scenic village of Ifran, often called “the Switzerland of Morocco,” nestled amidst the mountains. Passing through the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains, we’ll make a stop at Azrou, a charming Berber village surrounded by the famous cedar forest, home to the largest population of Barbary apes in Morocco. After a delightful time in the forest, our route leads us to Midelt, where we’ll traverse the captivating Tiz Ntalghamt pass and the stunning Ziz Gorge, offering mesmerizing views of the High Atlas plateau. As we approach Errachidia, you’ll notice the landscape gradually transforming, offering glimpses of the desert. After a delicious lunch, we’ll journey through the lush Ziz Valley, pausing for panoramic views en route to Erfoud and Rissani. Upon our arrival in Merzouga, you’ll be greeted with traditional Moroccan hospitality, sipping on refreshing mint tea before embarking on a camel ride guided by experienced camel handlers. Traverse the golden sands of Merzouga as the sun begins to set, culminating in a delightful dinner served in front of your tent, where you’ll spend the night immersed in the tranquility of the desert.

Day 2

Merzouga Sahara Desert – Rissani Market – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

In the heart of the desert, waking up early is a must-do to witness one of nature’s most breathtaking spectacles: the sunrise atop a towering dune near our camp. After soaking in the mesmerizing landscape, we’ll return to Merzouga on camelback, where a hearty breakfast awaits. Following breakfast, we bid farewell to the desert and journey to Rissani, where we’ll explore the bustling market (open on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday). Next, we’ll venture to Erfoud, renowned for its fossilized marble factories, before heading towards the lush palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad. Continuing our journey, we’ll arrive at the awe-inspiring Todra Gorges, where the river has sculpted magnificent cliff-sided canyons, attracting climbers from around the world. Enjoy some free time to savor lunch amidst this stunning natural setting, followed by a leisurely stroll through the gorges to fully appreciate their beauty. In the afternoon, our route takes us through the enchanting Dadès Valley, also known as the Valley of Figs. Passing through Boumalne Dadés, we’ll pause to admire the famed rock formations known as the “monkey legs” before concluding our day with dinner and a restful night amidst the breathtaking scenery of the Dadès Gorges.

Day 3

Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – High Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast, we’ll treat ourselves to stunning panoramic views of the Dadès Valley from a strategic lookout nestled in the mountains, offering a picturesque vista adorned with countless kasbahs. Continuing our journey, we’ll traverse the scenic “One Thousand Kasbahs Road,” pausing at various points of interest along the way, including the enchanting Roses Valley and the sprawling Skoura palm grove. Upon reaching Ouarzazate, we’ll explore the historic Kasbah of Taourirt, once the residence of the influential Glaoui family. For those interested, a visit to the cinema studios and cinema museum can also be arranged. A short distance from Ouarzazate, we’ll arrive at the ancient fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its remarkable Kasbah, featured in numerous blockbuster films such as Gladiator and The Mummy. After some free time for lunch, our journey continues to Marrakech, traversing the mountainous Tizi Ntichka pass with scenic stops for photography. Leaving behind the lunar landscapes, we’ll enter a vibrant world of colors as we approach Marrakech. Arriving around 6 pm, we’ll transfer you to your hotel, marking the end of our unforgettable journey through Morocco’s captivating landscapes and rich cultural heritage.
