Day 1

Fez – Azrou -Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert

Your journey begins in the morning with a complimentary pick-up from your accommodation in Fez. We’ll traverse the charming villages of the Middle Atlas Mountains, making our first stop in Ifrane, often likened to Morocco’s own Switzerland. Here, you’ll notice the French-inspired architecture, vibrant trees, and tidy streets. Continuing onward, we’ll reach the expansive cedar forest near Azrou, a Berber village. This forest is not only Morocco’s largest but also serves as the habitat for Barbary monkeys. Take a moment to bask in the tranquility of the forest before we head to Midelt for lunch. As we proceed through the striking landscapes of the High Atlas Mountains, we’ll pause at the stunning Ziz Valley, offering breathtaking panoramic views. Along the way, you’ll notice the gradual transition of scenery as hints of the desert emerge, particularly as we pass through Errachidia. Finally, in the afternoon, we’ll arrive at Merzouga village after passing through Erfoud, known as the “fossil city,” and Rissani. Feel free to capture the surrounding landscapes and nomadic villages along the route. Upon arrival in Merzouga, you’ll be escorted to your riad, where a warm welcome awaits you with a refreshing glass of mint tea. Your overnight stay will be in the comfort of the riad.

Day 2

 Merzouga Sahara Desert – Rissani – Erg Chebbi Sahara Desert with Camel trek and Overnight in a Berber Camp

After breakfast, the day is dedicated to exploring the desert’s surroundings. Our first stop takes us to the Khamlia villages to meet the Gnawa people, whose roots trace back to Sudan. Here, you’ll immerse yourself in their spiritual music and lifestyle, gaining insight into their rich cultural heritage. Just a short distance from the village lies Merzouga Lake, renowned for its diverse bird populations, offering a serene natural retreat. Next, we’ll venture to the bustling Rissani Market, bustling with activity on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and leather trading. As the city where the Alaouite Dynasty originated, Rissani holds historical significance, serving as the gateway to the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes. Afterward, we’ll return to Merzouga Village to relax before embarking on a camel trek to the desert camp. Experience the magic of a desert sunset from the sandy dunes, followed by a delectable dinner serenaded by rhythmic drum beats. Spend the night under the shimmering sky, creating memories to last a lifetime.

Day 3

Merzouga Sahara Desert – Todra Gorges – Palm Groves of Tinghir – Dades Gorges

Begin your day with an early wake-up call to witness the breathtaking sunrise, soaking in the tranquil beauty of the desert landscape and the gentle morning breeze caressing the sandy dunes. After leaving the bivouac, we’ll trek back to Merzouga Desert, marveling at the ever-changing hues of the Erg Chebbi dunes as the day unfolds. Upon returning to your accommodation in Merzouga, indulge in a delightful breakfast and a refreshing shower to rejuvenate for the day ahead. Our journey continues as we drive to Rissani and Tinghir, renowned for their picturesque oases and lush palm trees. Arriving at Todra Gorges, marvel at the narrowest gorges in Morocco, with towering rock walls that stand as the highest in the country. Delight in a lunch amidst the awe-inspiring scenery of the gorges. Afterward, we’ll proceed to the Dades Valley, a captivating landscape characterized by mauve mountains and countless sand castles. Explore the valley’s renowned rock formations known as “monkey toes” before settling in for the night at a remarkable hotel overlooking the valley, offering a perfect vantage point to admire the natural splendor of the surroundings.

Day 4

Dades Valley – Kasbah Amridil – Palm Groves of Skoura – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, our journey resumes as we bid farewell to the enchanting Dades Valley and head towards Kalaat M’gouna. Along the way, you’ll be captivated by the famed “Road of Thousand Kasbahs,” offering ample opportunities for captivating photography. Upon reaching Kalaat M’gouna, also known as the Rose Valley, you’ll be greeted by a delightful aroma and the chance to purchase locally produced rose water, renowned for its health benefits. If you’re visiting in May, you might even have the chance to experience the annual festival celebrated in this vibrant city. Continuing our adventure, we’ll make a stop at the Amridil Kasbah, a stunning architectural gem once inhabited by the Glaoui people. Finally, we’ll arrive in Ouarzazate, often referred to as the Moroccan Hollywood, where you’ll be dropped off at your riad for a comfortable overnight stay, surrounded by the allure of this cinematic city.

Day 5

Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Tizi n’Tichka Pass – Marrakech

On the final day of your tour, after breakfast, we’ll journey to the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a majestic fortified castle steeped in history. As we arrive at this UNESCO World Heritage site, you’ll have the opportunity to explore its ancient walls and intricate architecture, famously featured in numerous Hollywood movies such as “The Jewel of the Nile,” “Gladiator,” and “The Mummy.” After our visit, we’ll continue our drive to Marrakech, passing through the breathtaking Tizi n Tichka Pass, standing at an impressive 2,260 meters above sea level. Along the way, be sure to capture some memorable snapshots of the charming Berber villages nestled amidst the rugged landscapes. Upon reaching Marrakech, your driver will escort you to your accommodation, marking the end of your unforgettable journey through Morocco’s cultural treasures and natural wonders.
