Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Middle Atlas – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert

In the morning we will pick up you at the agreed pont in Marrakech. We will go to south crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains until we reach Ifrane, called ” The Moroccan Switzerland ” because of its great resemblance to that country. One of the animals that once inhabited here was the Atlas lion, which is why it has become the symbol of the city and a stone statue has been dedicated to it in the center of the town. We will take some photos. We will cross the famous Cedar Forest where we can admire the Great Cedar Gouraud, the largest ancient cedar in the region and also feed the hundreds of Gibraltar monkeys that live in the area. In the afternoon we will pass through the Ziz Valley. More than 20km of palm groves and 10 million palm trees make it one of the largest in the world. We will arrive to Merzouga and we will have a tea in our Hotel. Later we will have our first contact with the desert. Free time to get on the nearest dunes and relax with a spectacular sunset. Dinner and accommodation in a Riad very close to the Erg Chebbi Dunes. Kasbah Hôtel Tombouctou.

Day 2: Merzouga Desert – Nomad Families – Khamlia – Night in Berbere Tents

Today will be a Total Desert day. After a copious and rich breakfast, we will go around the Erg Chebbi, a big extension of sand where the Great Dune of Morocco is located, of more than 250 meters of altitude, and we will arrive at the village of Khamlia, whose inhabitants are native from Mali, and there, we will relax with a tea while we enjoy with a small concert of spiritual Gnawa music. After, we will visit the Khol mines and the nomads. Return to the Riad to prepare and go out in a caravan of camels to enter in the heart of the dunes and contemplate an unforgettable sunset. We will arrive with the camels to the camp where we will stay in Haimas. Dinner and night in Haimas in the heart of the desert under a spectacular blanket of stars. Luxury camp.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Rissani Market – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

We will have an appointment with Dawn. It is recommended to get up early to walk to the highest dune around the camp to enjoy the sunrise and the relaxing landscape that nature offers us. We will return to the village of Merzouga. After a delicious breakfast, we will say goodbye to the desert. We will leave for Rissani, the old capital, where we will visit its charming and bustling market and follow the road to Erfoud where there is possibility, if you wish, to visit the fossilized marble factory before continuing to the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad. 1 hour later we will arrive at one of the strongest points of the High Atlas: The Todra Gorges. The Todra River has formed vertical walls of enormous proportions and great beauty; it is a paradise for climbers and a unique place. Free time for a half-hour walk to enjoy the gorges. In the afternoon we will continue to the Dades Valley, also known as the Valley of Figs, passing through Boumalne Dadés, and stop at the “Monkey Legs”. Dinner and night in the Dades Gorges. Hotel Xaluca Dades.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Kasbah de Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast we can enjoy one of the best views of the Dades Valley. We will do it from one of the most strategic places that the mountains offer us. From there, we can observe the amount of kasbah and the picturesque of each one of them. After several stops to enjoy the Route of the Thousand Kasbah, the Valley of Roses and The Great Palm Grove of Skoura, we will arrive in Ouarzazate and visit the Film Studios. We will also go to the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, where we will visit its famous Kasbah (Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986). In this spectacular frame several famous movies have been filmed like Gladiator, Obelix or Sahara. Lunch in the village and in the afternoon we will leave for Marrakech crossing the mountain pass of Tizin ‘Tichka with stops to take pictures. Here we will leave behind the lunar landscape and we’ll see the predominant green, ocher colors … etc. Arrival in Marrakech around 6 pm. Transfer to the agreed point. End of our services.
