From Marrakech desert tour and Nomads Valleys

Offering you a free pick up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech, your driver will be waiting for you in an air conditioned car. First, you will pass by the spectacular High Atlas Mountains known as Tizi n Tichka pass (2,260m high), where you will glimpse the berber villages with their red adobe color. We will stop for an opportunity to take some tremendous pictures. Going off the main road, we will take a small path to Telouat Kasbah. With its salt mines which still active until today, you will explore the area, visit the Kasbah of Telouat, and have a delicious lunch in the local restaurant. After a free time of relaxation, we will continue to Ounila valley, where you will see the verdant narrow river and glance the berber villages on the side of the ravine. Then, we will reach Ait Ben Haddou a fortified Kasbah ﹙castle﹚ which is the largest clay Kasbah in Morocco, and the UNESCO world heritage site. Moreover, the Kasbah is the place for many Hollywood movies that were filmed, like, The Jewel of the Nile, Gladiator and the Mummy… After exploring the Kasbah we will reach Ouarzazate, where you will spend the night.

Today, after breakfast we will leave Ouarzazate to Draa Valley. Important to mention, it is one of the longest rivers in Morocco. While exploring it, you will be fascinated by its irrigated fields, beautiful date palms along the valley. The quietness of the place,and the beauty of the surroundings will just inspire you and indulge your senses. Then, we will take a break for lunch in Alnif or nkob. Finally, we will arrive to the superb Merzouga Desert, where your camel guide will take you to the Desert camp riding your camels. Reaching the camp, you will find nomadic tents constructed of pure camel hair. Dinner and overnight, will be in the camp enjoying the sound of drums and the starry sky.

This day is dedicated to explore the desert and the nomadic villages that surround it. First, we advice you to wake up a little bit early, so as, not to miss and meditate the sublime sunrise over the dunes, near the camp. You will appreciate the morning breeze, and the beautiful views of the seas sand that change in color. Then, we will trek back to Merzouga Village for a refreshing shower and a mouthwatering breakfast. Leaving Merzouga to discover the high dunes of Erg Chebbi. Height of 160m, Erg Chebbi dunes are very modest by their extraordinarily scenic views of rose gold dunes, and the stunning shades of pink and orange as the sun descends. After that, our next stop will be in Tissardmin oasis, which is known for its fossil quarries, that still work in the area. From there, we will continue to Khamlia, contemplating the nomadic berber villages, and suggesting a stop to learn about their customs and traditions. Upon arrival to Khamlia village, which people’s are originated from Mali and Sudan. In the first place, you will be welcomed by a cup of mint tea, while sitting back enjoying their spiritual music known as Gnawa. Finally, we will drive back to your accommodation to relax and enjoy the afternoon near the desert. Overnight, will be in the accommodation.

Next morning, we will leave Merzouga Village to visit Rissani, in its entrance you will observe a big decorative arched door. In the first place, you will visit the local market lively only on tuesday, thursday and saturday, where you can see some beautiful local products like jewellery, and perhaps do the shopping. After that, we will discover the fossil city Erfoud. The city contains fossils back date to hundred of years, furthermore, you will get the chance to visit the manufactures marble fossils or the ancient Ksar, named M’Aadid ﹙optional﹚. Next, our way will be to Tinjdad and Touroug groves. Reaching an amazing natural gorge, Todra Gorges are sited upon a volcanic rock, which offer a wonderful opportunity for climbing rocks lovers to practice their favourite sport, thanks to its uneven surfaces. Lunch will be in this wonderful gorge, before heading to another natural valley. Moving forward to Dades Valley, we will appreciate the spectacular views of the valley, while stretching your imagination in the bountiful oases, the mudbricks nomadic houses which give the valley its nickname of “ The Valley of Thousand Kasbahs”. Dinner and overnight will be in the valley.

After breakfast, we will have free time to explore the Valley for one more time, appreciating the scenic characteristics of the area . Then, we will move forward through the road of Ksbahs which is of a touristic interest. Making many stops for some beautiful pictures, we will visit Skoura. You will be amazed by the rose valley and the stretching palm groves. Next, we will stop in Ouarzazate known as Morocco Hollywoood. In the first place, you will visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, Cinema studios and museum. Lunch will be in the town, finally, we will drive to Marrakech passing by Tizi n Tichka pass to capture some pictures, but this time of the sunset, which changes the color of the landscapes. Then, we will arrive to Marrakech, where your driver will transport you to your accommodation.
