Day 1

Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Zagora – Camel trip and Overnight in Berber Tent

Pick up at 08:00 am at the hotel where you are staying in Marrakech and departure to the High Atlas Mountains through Tizi N’Tichka with panoramic views, where we can see many Berber villages that are in this region.

We will continue to the south and we will turn off onto a track of 6 km that leads to the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou. We will visit its famous Kasbah (Declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1986). In this spectacular setting they have been filmed several famous films like Gladiator, Obelix, Jewel of the Nile, Sahara with Penelope Cruz … etc. Lunch in the village and in the afternoon we will continue towards Zagora via the mountains of Little Atlas making a few stops to take pictures. In 2 hours drive we will arrive at our destination, Zagora Desert, about 17h or so. Leave the car to ride camels for a 1 hour tour and head for camp to attend sunset. After dinner we will enjoy Berber drums music. Overnight in the nomad camp in the heart of the desert under the stars.

Day 2

Zagora – Draa Valley – Anti Atlas – Ouarzazate – High Atlas – Marrakech

We will wake up before dawn to watch the sunrise on the dunes near the camp. Breakfast and return on camels to the town of Zagora to get in our car towards the Draa Valley, where we will make several stops to enjoy this beautiful valley that runs along the river of the same name. It is the longest river in Morocco and cross the whole country to Mauritania for more than 240km. We will cross the Little Atlas to reach Ouarzazate, where we will visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, Film Studies and Film Museum if desired. Then depart for Marrakech via Tizi N ‘Tichka where we will stop for lunch. 2 hours later we will arrive in Marrakech, transfer to hotel and end of our services.

Important to know: In the small desert Zagora no high dunes and is not the great desert you expect to see, so if your interest is to sleep in the middle of the highest dunes in Morocco, we recommend the route of three days into the wilderness of Merzouga.

Trip of a lifetime!
nickmelbourne2018 from TripAdvisor
We had the absolute best time with Hassan on our trip! Over three days we went from Marrakech through the Atlas Mountains to The Sahara and then all the way up to Fes.
The trip itself was truly amazing. We saw so many beautiful landscapes and eye opening places but the most amazing part of the trip was getting an in depth and honest insight into Moroccan culture & what it’s like to live there from Hassan.
If you’re looking for something more than just a standard tourist trip and you’re looking for something extraordinary and special this is the trip for you.

A well organized travel agency!

Sky Morocco trips is a well organized travel agency so we have enjoyed very much our private -as we are group of 6- trip from Marakkesh to Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou through High Atlas mountain. It was an amazing experience with Abdul an experienced, very friendly and so polite guide. We also made another one day trip to Essaouira a very picturesque small town near the sea. Mohamed was also very polite guide who speaks fluently English and another 5 languages. Our experience was unique and we recommend Sky Morocco trips and Hassan who did everything to fulfill our expectations!
