How to get to Toubkal National Park?  

Toubkal National Park is accessible from Ourika Valley, about one hour drive from Marrakech. Entrance points to Toubkal National Park are marked with signs. From these entry points, you enter the heart of the park and you can only move on foot or on mules. 

What can you do in Toubkal National Park?  

Toubkal National Park offers many activities for the guests. There are many hiking trails with varying degrees of difficulty. For most hikers, the green Tamadote track is a great choice with a short distance of 6 km that gives you the opportunity to discover the mountain forest. During the hike you can enjoy local food in traditional guesthouses or have a picnic under the trees enjoying the incredible views. The beautiful village of Imlil is a great place for  the mountaineers  to stop. Is a charming and lively Moroccan village among the mountains and a wonderful place to recharge your batteries, eat delicious tajins, immerse yourself in the life of the locals and buy some souvenirs. Visitors can also explore the ecomuseum of Toubkal National Park, located at the foot of the High-Atlas Mountains, between the villages of Imlil and Asni. More adventurous visitors can climb Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa and throughout the Arab world. For this activity you will need a local guide and the trip takes 2 days. 

Is Mount Toubkal safe? 

 After  the tragic deaths of the two Scandinavian women in 2018, local authorities in Toubkal National Park have introduced a number of safety measures to ensure that climbers are not in danger when climbing Mount Toubkal.  

These safety measures include:  

  • Climbers must be accompanied by a qualified local guide.  
  • All guides must have a professional card  issued by the Ministry of Tourism. 
  •  Is not allowed ascent to Mount Tubkal after 3 p.m.  
  • Your overnight stay must be in an authorized place.  
  • Camping is prohibited.  

What is the best time to visit Toubkal National Park ??? 

 Toubkal National Park is open all year round. If you want to enjoy the nature and the forests, the best time is from May to October. The winter season starts from the beginning of February to the end of April and offers many activities such as skiing and skateboarding.
